# Deleting a Page

> Step-by-step instructions for deleting a Curator page, including how to resolve the homepage-block error and what to expect on sites with many user groups.

## To delete a page in Curator

1. Navigate to the backend of the system (e.g. `http://curatorexample.com/backend`).
2. Navigate to the **Content** > **Pages** section from the left-hand menu.
3. Click the page you want to delete to open it.
4. Click the **Delete** button.
5. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

## Troubleshooting: "Cannot delete page set as the homepage"

If the page you are trying to delete is currently configured as the homepage, Curator will block the deletion and
display an error explaining that the page is set as the homepage. To resolve this:

1. Navigate to **Settings** > **Curator** > **Theme Settings** in the left-hand menu.
2. Change the **Homepage** setting to a different page and save.
3. Return to **Content** > **Pages**, open the page you wanted to delete, and click **Delete** again.

## Slow Deletion on Sites With Many Groups

On sites that have a large number of user groups, deleting a page may take longer than expected. This is because
Curator automatically resets any per-group homepage overrides that point at the page being deleted before completing
the deletion, which can add measurable time on installations with many groups. This is expected behavior — let the
request finish rather than retrying.
